Crafty Halloween Costumes Part 1…
Am I crafty? Why yes I am! I love to come up with projects for myself…they don’t always work out (like my plan to make my own laundry soap-FAIL!), but it’s always fun to try new things!
Over the years, I have made many Halloween costumes. I think it’s so fun to take the idea of something and turn it into reality. ย Here are a few of my creations:
This year, Jadon decided to be a Lego Micromanager (from the Lego Movie). When he made this announcement, he just said he wanted to be a micromanager and so I’m picturing this little businessman. I must have had a really confused look on my face, because he told me where it was from and then we Googled it and finally I understood ๐ .
Here is my goal:
You might think this looks impossible…but where there’s a will, there’s a way!!
When I looked at it, I saw shapes that could be made with boxes…and maybe foam. The claw hands would have to be something he could hold onto (because I have no idea how I would attach them to anything!). Boxes around his shoes for the big robot feet…and a LOT of spray paint!!!
Here’s our work in progress:
Jadon tracing the circles…
my pile of cut out circles, we ended up with 70!
I used Gorilla Glue to glue all the circles to the box and then I had to weight it down and let it dry…my cookbooks worked really well for that part ๐
Jadon got in on the spray painting fun
coming along nicely…
need to glue the claws together…
And that’s all I have done for now…I have lots to do in the next couple of days ๐ย . I will show you the finished product on Halloween!!!
Are you working on costumes for your kids?? Share your awesome creationsย in the comments!!
