our crayon art

Here is the result of our art project…I’m unimpressed. I don’t know if it didn’t get hot enough outside or what, but the shavings just got kind of soft and gummy instead of melting completely. Also, they left a big greasy spot on the paper. I was disappointed, but on the upside–my son had a lot of fun making the shavings and checking on it every so often. He thought it was a very fun summer project. Maybe we’ll have to try it again on a hotter day…

Have any of you experimented with this art project?? Did it turn out any better than ours??
