My hubby and I started a tradition long, long ago…we carve pumpkins every year. We started when it was just the two of us and then it became even more fun once we had our son! When we lived in Alaska, you weren’t allowed to leave real pumpkins out except for on Halloween night so we carved fake pumpkins from the craft store for the three years we lived up there.

I love this tradition! I love that we all sit down together to do it. I love the faces my son makes as he pulls the seeds and slime out of the pumpkin. I love how fun it is to light them for the first time and see how awesome they look. …basically I just love the fun of doing something together as a family πŸ™‚ .

Some years we each have our own pumpkin and some we do one big pumpkin together. This yearΒ we haveΒ 2 large pumpkins…and here is what we did with them:

The top one is my son’s. This was the first year he actually carved it pretty much by himself…he is very proud of it πŸ™‚

If you haven’t carved a pumpkin yet this year, there’s still time!! You can even create your own design with this website:

I would love to see your fabulous pumpkins!! Post a pic in the comments!!
