Sensory Saturday: “Music” Shakers
Summer is officially here for our family and it has been wonderful to have full days with my kids! I don’t understand, however, how kids can get bored so quickly (oh, how I wish I could have the feeling of boredom again!). They would spend all day outdoors if they could but it isn’t possible for us. Any noise over fighting and crying is good for me so I came up with idea of the kids making their own “music” shakers and it ended up going over even better than I expected!
We used empty chip cans and filled them with things we had around the house. Here is what we used in our cans but you could obviously be super creative with what you put in.
Here they are assembling their shakers.
I glued the top of the lids to avoid any potential messes.
And here is the finished product!
Aren’t they so much fun?! I didn’t expect the pure joy from them but they love to dance and make music.
What is your favorite unconventional way to make music? Let us know in the comments below and we might try it out!
Much love,
<3 Jamie
