Okay, friends, I know I say this a lot but I am really excited to share this activity with you. It was so much fun and turned into more than I had even imagined it to be. First, you need to understand something about me – I love glitter. I have only given small teases of glitter to my daughter, because I don’t think my husband would appreciate glitter every where (I would be totally cool with it) but today, I gave her bottles of glitter and I was even more thrilled than she was. We merged my love of something (glitter) with their love of something (muddy puddles) and wa-la, princess puddles were born.

You can really add anything you want to princess puddles (we may experiment with other types of puddles before the really cold weather comes). We had a base of sidewalk chalk, lots of glitter, and some soapy cleaner that we added in. Then came the hose which is always fun on its own.

We added lots more glitter over time. Oliver enjoyed digging with shells and adding rocks while Maddy loved to watch how the glitter moved through the water.

Maddy was thrilled because she found a worm right next to her princess puddle.

This activity lasted for about an hour and was so much fun! I even had my own personal cleanup crew.

Bath-time was nice and glittery too!

Have you ever “decorated” a puddle? What kind of puddle would you make? Let us know in the comments below and we will try it out!

Much love,
