Sensory Saturday: The Magic of Model Magic
I have been waiting for this moment for years now. I love the spirit of the holidays and I get so excited to give gifts to the ones I love. I wondered when my 4-year-old would get into the spirit of giving and she is there! She decided that she wanted to make some gifts for her friends at school. It was a special moment for me, when my daughter moved from “me me me” to “you you and sometimes me.” It’s the magic of Christmas, I’m sure! π
We used Crayola Magic Model so she could make things easily and then let it “dry.” We have actually had these for awhile and had never used them. We need to get more now! This stuff is great to work with and has a really unique feel to them. This was another one of those activities where I sat the materials in front of the kids and then just let them go to work. It is good for them and me for me not to be involved in every little bit of the activity. It helps give them a creativity-boost!
Oliver came in a bit late but caught up pretty quickly. He stuck two pieces together and said he was done.
Maddy, who doesn’t have the longest attention span, did really well and was pretty creative.
She was pretty proud of these two. She can’t wait to go back to school!
I’m a little jealous that I didn’t make my own.
Have your kids ever used anything like this to create models? What is your favorite brand?
See you next week, friends!
Much love,
