Have you started your Thanksgiving holiday yet? I know the holidays for me is an emotional tornado full of excitement, love, frustration, anxiety, happiness, depression, worry, comfort, relaxation and much, much more. The good tends to outweigh the bad for me which makes me look forward the holidays every year (I really DO think it is the most wonderful time of the year!).

But, we all have our holiday horror stories. Here’s one from I Bambini Clothing owner, Kim:

“I remember the first Thanksgiving spent with my husband, then boyfriend: We had a few friends over who were not able to go home during the hoilday break from college. We had no idea how to use a baster and my friend ended up spraying HOT TURKEY drippings all over me and burning my leg.”

Haha! Whoops! We just can’t avoid those silly kinds of situations, right?

Here’s another from our friend, Candace:

“My first Thanksgiving cooking was also my last. It was disastrous. I burnt everything and set a baking mitt on fire. We ended up having to go to Cracker Barrel! So now we happily travel to eat with family and I pay to have my items made. Shhhhhh don’t tell anyone!”

Your secret is safe with us!

My horrible Thanksgiving story isn’t so bad but it was bad to me in the moment. My church used to serve Thanksgiving lunches to the community for free. It had become one of my all-time favorite traditions. The first year after my husband and I got married, we fought over going to that or to his family’s Thanksgiving. After tearfully giving in to him, I cried almost the whole way to the dinner. It ends up we were the first ones there and could have spent some time at my church after all before going. My husband quickly learned to back me up sometimes!

Whether you have the best Thanksgiving, or the worst, I hope that you can take time to be grateful for what you have and for the people in your life. We all need each other.

Have a beautiful Thanksgiving, friends!

Much love,
